COMPEX Mini Switch Series PS2208B is an 8-port 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch enclosed in a compact desktop casing. Designed with a back plane capacity of 1.6Gbps, PS2208B enables Full Bandwidth Non-Blocking switching at every node. In addition, PS2208B supports 8 independent switching segments, allowing collision-free frame forwarding from one port to another. PS2208B is a perfect solution for Small & Home Offices to migrate to Switched Ethernet LAN with minimum investment.

Features 8 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Ports Supporting N-Way Auto-Negotiation PS2208B comes with 8 RJ45 Fast Ethernet ports supporting 10/100Mbps network connectivity. With N-Way Auto-Negotiation, PS2208B is able to detect the capability of the transmission speed and mode between any two nodes, and self-configure for the highest possible operation mode. Full Bandwidth Non-Blocking Switch Architecture Unlike Hubs or Repeaters that contain an internal bus capable of only 100Mbps transmission, PS2208B is designed with a backplane capacity of 1.6Gbps with an average allocation of 200Mbps per port, allowing every node to perform at their maximum performance.   Dynamic Address Learning & Filtering With Dynamic Address Learning & Filtering, PS2208B maintains a MAC address table that holds the informa- tion of whereabout a specific MAC address is with respect to the port number. When a frame packet is to be forwarded, the Switch will refer to the MAC address table and forward the packet only to the related port, avoiding the collisions commonly seen in a Hub or Repeater.   Ease of Integration PS2208B is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 10Base-T and 802.3u 100Base-TX standards, ensuring full compatibility with your existing Ethernet equipment. To migrate from an 8-port Ethernet Hub to PS2208B, simply replace the 8-port Hub with PS2208B.   Small Compact Desktop Casing PS2208B is enclosed in an attractive small desktop casing. With its compact size, it can easily find a location in the office.   Applications  PS2208B can be used in any small office and home office to support up to 8 users. It can be cascaded to another PS2208B to support more users. For the migration from Hubs or Repeaters, PS2208B can directly replace any 8-port 10Mbps or 10/100Mbps Hub that comes with RJ45 Ethernet ports.
